Buying Topps: what to look for
1st Bowman is the one to look for
A "1st Bowman" shield on the card front means it is that prospect's first Bowman card. It is the version the market prices; later prints are worth far less.
Refractor type drives price
A base Chrome card and a numbered refractor can look near-identical in a thumbnail. Tilt the card to the light — refractors show a rainbow sheen — and always read the parallel name in the listing title.
Match Attax is for playing and collecting
Most Match Attax cards are pocket money items, but limited editions, 100 Club and signed cards from big seasons do carry real value. Keep them out of sleeves-free shoeboxes.

What is a Topps Chrome refractor?
A refractor is a parallel printed on reflective chrome stock that throws a rainbow sheen when tilted. Refractors are printed in smaller numbers than base cards and usually sell for a multiple of the base version.
Are Match Attax cards worth anything?
